If this really is one of the fastest cheap brown bikes, then this is the official bike of TYPE 7 DIARRHEA. Hello, Many years ago Honda had severe problems with K2 and KZ cams and lifters giving us many headaches. However in modern engines a lot is down to hydraulic lifters/ cam followers and suitable oil, believe it or not the wrong grade can make a whole heap of difference also leaving service intervals too long stretches the life of the lubricant. Remember these are high revving engines so take a lot out of any oil. Are you using a synthetic lubricant, your environment can alter the viscosity i.e. Cold climate thinner oil warm environment medium very warm thinnish. Although the noise you are experiencing is acceptable at the moment if it gets worse or takes longer to clear a top end internal inspection will be required. I hope this helps? Paul 'W' Onyer~EDson(:0)~[. Yes, you need to check the points and condenser. If you have no spark an the plug this is the first part to check. The points have a cam follower (see picture point D), this follower rides an a shaft ( E) that should have flat and hi spots to open / close the points. This picture is of a single point system, but will show what parts are what. The plate moves a very small amount ( C), which changes the point gap, (which also will change timing) it is not easy to see how much effect there is until it is running and you adjust the points and using a timing light. Be sure the pints contacts are clean, if the condenser and points are old you may want to replace them. Rotate the engine until your points are at max opening. Adjust the points to the desired setting, Check a manual for the gap or start with.015 feeler gage. Download software hobart rc-256 manual. Secure the plate and all wiring. Test for voltage with the key switch on, using a 12vdc test light, the clamp end of the light grounded to the engine block. Touch the tip to the points top contact ( B) it should be hot 12 volts DC, all the way back to the Negative side of the coil ( A). Now as you turn the engine slowly, the points will close and the tip will touch and the light will go out, keep turning and the light will come back on. Look for your timing marks, thru the timing window there in the point plate. Turn the engine until the light comes on, adjust the plate to move the timing to align the timing with the light just coming on. This will get you in the ball park to start her up and adjust the timing with a timing light. Hope this helps Fix Ya up.| Answered on May 22, 2011. Pick ups work similar to points The coil needs power, when the points open the coil field collapses and it sparks With pickups they trigger the electric igniton box to do the same job as points. If you have power to the coils, when you touch a pick up with a screw driver it should trigger a spark. You dont often get two coils fail or two pick ups fail simutanously, but a faulty ignitor box will stop all spark. PS (not ignition related)Check the rivets in the wheels if it has them| Answered on May 09, 2011. First and foremost: make absolutely certain that you've got all of the bolts (and nuts) removed. Then very carefully place a flat blade screwdriver in the slots which are cast into the pieces for just that purpose. Before prying with them, however, give the sides of the head a good tap with a shot-filled rubber mallet. Just remember; it will come apart as long as you have all of the fasteners removed - and do not, under any circumstances, damage the gasket surfaces by prying against them.| Answered on Nov 10, 2009. Did the starter work when it was jumped by a car battery? If so, the problem is probably the battery in the bike. Take the battery to an automotive parts house and have it tested. Usually, they'll test the battery for free. What is the CCA of your battery? Those big engines are hard to start and you may not have a battery with enough 'Cold Cranking Amps' to turn the engine over. The old Harley Sprint (1973 & '74) was notorious for this. You really had to have a strong battery in that bike for he electric starter to work. Some bikes have wiring that disables the starter if the transmission is not in neutral. Check on this as well.| Answered on Nov 05, 2009. Hello, Many years ago Honda had severe problems with K2 and KZ cams and lifters giving us many headaches.
